Many people ask the question, “why do I need a personal trainer? Why should I pay somebody to tell me when and how to exercise? Besides, I know how to eat healthy.”
Here’s the answer: 1. Motivation 2. Accountability 3. Consistency. 4. Expertise. Now, we could go on and on about this, but trainers provide these 3 important factors that are crucial to any beneficial exercise plan. Let’s be honest. You won’t always be motivated, watch your calories, or workout when you are supposed to on you own. If so, you probably wouldn’t be reading this article.
Motivation: Trainers specialize in helping people to reach there goals. Someone has to let you know that you are not too far away from reaching your goals.
Accountability: Now we are adults, but often time we need support. Part of that support is being held accountable for what we said we will do. Trainers will be there rain, sleet, shine, sickness, and in health.
Consistency: It is easy to say, I’ll do it tomorrow. On the other hand, your trainer will say, “No, let’s do it today!” As with any other endeavor, constant effort is the only way to results.
Expertise: This is the crucial component that is overlooked when making the horrible decision to not work with a trainer. Many people will join a gym this January with a new found motivation to get physically fit and not have a clue on where to begin. Don’t be that guy or gal.
